Isla Mujeres is a small, tranquil Island located just 11 km (20 minutes by boat) north of the Cancun coast. Less than 1 km wide and only 8 km long, it's the perfect palm fringed tropical retreat. Today it is a favorite destination for relaxed travelers, serious divers, and day-trippers from Cancun.
Ferries from Puerto Juarez and express boats from Cancun dock at the main village, its harbor dotted with colorful fishing boats and its sandy streets are lined with a jumble of shops, outdoor cafes and restaurants. Golf carts, motorcycles or bicycles are the common mode of transport for residents and visitors alike.
